Fundraising & Donations

The branch is funded by donations from various sources and there is no annual subscription for branch membership. Our sources of finance are legacies and in memoriam donations, raffles, supermarket and other collections. Grants are also pursued where possible

Sending a donation

If a donation is made by cheque it is important to use the full title of the branch in the payee line: “ Parkinsons UK” If paid to our Treasurer it will be included in the Parkinsons Fareham and Gosport and Districts Branch funds.  The cheques should be passed to the branch treasurer at meetings or you can use the ‘contact form‘ to obtain a postal address.

At Fetes

We regularly attend the local Fetes and sell products, hold raffles/tombola and talk to the public to raise their awareness of the Parkinson’s Disease

At Superstores

We attend many of the local Superstores when invited to collect funds and interact with the public

With a Fish and Chip Lunch

We hold an annual fish and chip lunch by the sea for our members and include a small raffle

Parkinson’s Walks

Parkinson’s UK organises walks in our area every year.

55th Anniversary Lunch

Lunch to celebrate Parkinson’s UK 55th anniversary

Donations

we have received several donations in 2022. The local golfers organised a golf day and evening dinner. The bikers in Gosport organised a motor bike rideout.

What happens to Excess Funding?

Excess funds are sent to Parkinson’s UK at the end of the year to be used for research and centrally run services such as help lines and information leaflets. Our branch has had a lot of support from individuals, organisations and our own members.

It is quite humbling to see the breadth of support we have received. We would like to say a huge thank you to everyone who has made a contribution to the branch and who continues to support us.
